Try right clicking on the link, 'Save target as'. It saves directly to the location of your choice (usually hard drive). The reason your having problems with #3 is because it's 1.4 Gigabytes
... your browser can't handle it... Save it direct to the hard drive and you shouldn't have a problem...
The other option is a download manager and do it in the dead of night (less people trying to get it), also if it is interrupted, the manager will pick up the download from the stop point, not have to start again...
