Re: Are Trailer guides worth it??
I have guide posts on the rear of the trailer and the side guide bulks on the side halfway up. My boat was like this when I bought it used. I'm thinking the previous owner installed the posts and moved the original side bulks forward towards the middle.
Anyways, the guide posts are great, since I fish 98% of the time myself. I like them when I retrieve, especially on those breezy days.
Also, I can have a reference if my boat is centered on the trailer or not. For some reason, my boat likes to shift over to the left a little whenever I load. Sometimes, I have to push it by hand on the loading zone to try and get it as centered as possible. I have to try and shift it about 3/4" over to the right...

It's a 16.5' deep V with a Merc 60 4-S on the back. So it's not super light, but a push and shakey with the trailer will do. But if I pay attention, I can usually fix it while I'm still on the ramp, as long as I'm not too far into the water or it's really windy. Or the ramp is crooked.
I do hate how they've scratched up the paint on my tinny.
