Does anyone know anything about the Surface Drives? I heard that they don't do too good on the manuverability side, but speed is good. Anyone have more Info? ;)

JAZZ :)

Nothing better on the planet than a big prop sticking out of the water. Part are pricey.

Low speed manuverability is bad... That can be overcome somewhat with twin engines... For flat out go-fast, BIG horsepower and surface drives are the only way to fly (litterally)... :D

Search "surface drive" or "surface piercing propeller" on google and get ready to read!

There are also some "hybrid" types that are very similar the straight inboards... One called "Power Vent" caught my intrest a while back...

I read a couple of articles about the "Power Vent" drives.... Pretty Interesting, But Not very Practable for a Repower, You have to Build the Boat Around the Drive System(Literally).........
The Surface Drives are Great for Going Fast.....
But That's about It....
