I have an Aristocraft that I bought about 7 years ago to restore (I am in Suwanee, Ga). I put several months worth of work into it and had it running with a few issues. I don't really care if I make money on the boat, but I would rather see it go to a home where someone wants to restore it further. I paid $500 dollars for the boat and invested about $2K into it (I don?t expect to get the money back). I would appreciate any info or advice anyone can provide.
The Good:
Compression in each cylinder is withing 3 psi of each other (it was three years ago) 120 HP GM 4 Cyl
Engine Cranked and ran (3 years ago)
Hull is solid
Motor mounts rebuilt
Engine in good shape (but will likely needs some work)
Seems to have no major mechanical problems
Trailer completed disassembled, sanded, primed, painted and rewired.
Hardtop included
Windshield intact (Green tint with cracks at the corners)
The Bad:
It is a 40 year old boat
Not water ready
Some bubbles in FiberGlass
At least one screw on the valve cover is stripped
Been sitting for at least 3 years
What's Left to Do:
Fiberglass gas tank needs to be coated on the interior to prevent current gasoline from dissolving it (Gas in the 60's did not contain ethanol, which dissolves fiberglass)
Bellows needs to be replaced
Please contact me if you want to buy it or know where it might find a good home.
Thanks
Michael
