Any of the Arkies planning on watching the fireworks on lake hamilton sunday night?

I was thinking about going down there and then camping out on an island that night.

Anyone else thinking bout going out there? even for a afternoon BBQ?

Well I'm nowhere near you and obviously not attending but from the days when we had fireworks on our lake I'd like to share some insight. We has well over 400 boats near the marina plus everyone else (12K acre lake) and it was total chaos after the fireworks finished. I'm talking drunk idiots who've never boated now operating at night driving in across water that couldn't have been 2 feet deep, shooting off flares for the heck of it crazyness. I remember one year a guy running 40 feet onto a beach crazyness. Be careful! If I had to do it again I'd beach and lay low for at least 2 hours after they were over.

Smoe, I don't know how much exposure you've had to Hamilton, so you may know this already, but it's pretty wild and is known as the party lake. Every year without fail there are fatalities there, and most of them are the direct result of intoxication and/or inexperience. That combination is frustrating at best and lethal at worst and is guaranteed to be abundant on Hamilton Sunday night, so if you go watch yourself. Also, not sure about island camping there. There may be some available, but it's no Ouachita. As Halfmoa said, YMMV.

Ya, never been to lake hamilton. But we probably aren't gonna go. Don't think the wife would be up to it. I called entergy about camping out there and they said they didn't "encourage" it.

I will probably be out at the sand bar monday with some friends from work and their kids.

LOL. I had to work when yall got together But I PROMISE I will be at the next one! Coop is right about being on the water. It is too dangerous for me to be in a boat at night on that lake. During the day its not too bad, but at night...NOPE!

if u go, i will meet you at the ramp if you want. my buddies boat threw a rod so we aren't going and he's staying in. I've got a couple hotties I can take from h.s if you are serious or I don't have to bring them. I've met several chicks out there this year

Matt, I have nothing against Hamilton, but I don't think it would be the best place for smoe since he has three kids and one on the way. You gotta remember, we iboaters are a bunch of old dudes. Also, you really shouldn't put your email addy on the open board. That's a sure way to get a bunch of spam. Might want to remove it before it's too late.

Hey...im not that old.... I'm still trying to come to grips with hitting 30 lol. But yes The times I have passed hamilton, it has appeared packed full of wakeboardin boats and floating islands of boats. And while it might be fun I have other priorities.

And the last thing I want to get wrapped up in is throwing my military career down the drain for a couple underage hotties from high school on my boat lol.

Like I said, I'll be on the river tomorrow, with some guys from work and our kids.

is it the arkansas river u are going to? I wonder whats going on at the sandbar. Hey , I parked down there by the sand bar yesterday for about 10 minutes and there was a red/white jet boat that went flying by at about 70. I first heard it while I was driving down rebsamen and thought a drag car was passing me.

Hey , incoop, I don't care if spammers email me that's a secondary email address i use for forums and such. Oh Smoedog, I understand about your career, to me it's not about the picking up women I don't care nothing about that, just hanging out with other boaters and hang out with you. I was trying to get a boat this summer but it didn't really work out so I'm gonna be boat shopping this offseason.

I don't have anything against Hamilton either, btw. I just think there are too many lights around the lake on the houses that can be confused for another boat. It is a nice lake, I just won't be on it at night.
