The Coat-it or Gluvit goes on the inside per the manufacturers directions, both will need to be painted over to protect them from the sun and UV break down.

+1. Gluv-it applied to the INTERIOR seams of the boat will seal any pesky leaks. You can also use any leftover to seal wooden components as well. It does require some UV protection, as jig pointed out, so you will need to paint over it and/or install a deck to shield it from the sun. If it's cold where you live right now, you may need to wait a while and/or apply it in a heated garage. I think it needs to be + 60F for it to kick.

Thanks. I suppose you get the Coat-it or Gluvit at a boating store. Not sure I have been in a boating store for over 50 years. I was talking with my friend this evening and he said he saw someting on TV about something similar for repairing leaks such as gutters etc. Have you ever heard of that stuff? The inside of the boat does need repaintng, so painting over it is probably a must anyway. Ed Bell

We may get some 60 plus degrees days in January but maybe not. I could put my kerosene heater in my garage and do it in there. Sure would like to get this project ready for the market and out of my yard soon. My wife and another friend said that it's begining to look like a junk yard around here. Ed Bell

The Coat-it & Gluvit can be found online. Most of everyone here will tell you to not use the TV advertised sealing product. The Gluvit & Coat-it are made for sealing aluminum boats.

You may be able to find Gluvit or Coat-it at Academy Sports if you have one near you.

Thanks for the Glvuit and Coat-it links. Looks like they gave me an idea for another project. There was one of the products that is used to coat a garage floor. Bet it wouldn't come in black and white squares.

Don't have and Academy Sposrts but we do have a ****'s Sporting Goods and a Gander Mountain in Jackson and a small Pro Bass store in Memphis which is only 70 miles from me. I bet for sure Pro Bass would have something like it. Thanks.

West Marine stores also sell Gluv-it as well.
