I realize that when there is torque on the motor it will pull. My lil 1950's 15hp evenrude outboard pulls hard. Is there anything I can do to ease it up some?

Sure, take the plugs out...

Sorry, couldn't resist. Are you saying it's hard to pull start or it takes many pulls to get her to fire?

Re: Arms tired

He might mean it's a strain on him to hold it while it's running, like torque-steering. the bolt on my 8hp stripped out so it turns freely meaning I can't let go of it or it'll immediately pull to the right. Dave, it may have a screw or bolt on the column that'll put a little tension on it so it'll stay in place, if that is what your dilemma is

Yes it pulls from the torque. It really takes off if I let go of the handle. I abought threw myself into the Mississippi today

Kinda like mine.....that's what the trim tabs on some bigger models help to suppress. Don't let go of the handle...... As I mentioned, take a look on the column, or shaft/exhaust housing. There's got to be a screw or bolt or knob of some sorts that'll tighten up the steering on it. Mine just flops around when I'm pulling it on the trailer. It's likely on the transom bracket come to think of it.....
