My advice to any rider no matter the level is to focus on getting the equipment that best fits your size and riding style. The combination of the right equipment with a balanced stance over the bindings will create great success for your riding in 2016.

Riding a progressive edge to the wake is key to getting plenty of air time. The more narrow profile of the Maiden along with plenty of rocker in the board allows you to turn in slowly and gradually increase and hold pressure on the riding edge of the board as your ride up the wake.

Boots like the Brighton are not only very comfortable, the added foot and ankle support allows you to better control pressure over your feet and that gives you an exact feeling as you ride the edge of the board to the wake.

There's a good selection of great new riding gear for you to ask Santa for too. Here's some of my pics.

Everything on the water doesn't have to be all serious, To break up the routine, HO has unveiled a new Rad and Fad tube boards.

Besides being designed for fun, both share the common feature of providing plenty of surface area for great stability and balance and to go at a slow boat speed about 15 to 20 mph.

The Rad is a spinner and you get ride it on your knees like a kneeboard or you can do spins while standing up.

The Fad is like a cross between a wakeboard and a wake surfer. Expand your horizons and have fun turning the Fad around riding switch stance and getting air off the wake like a wakeboard or make surf cuts on your favorite side of the boat's wake.

The popularity of Wake Surfing has provided the sport with great innovation and new product selection. Hyperlite Wakeboard Wake surfing is all the rage and its great fun. At the low impact speed of about 10 mph boat speed you can have a blast behind your board carving the board up and down the wake like a surfer. You develop balance and learn about using your legs and feet to direct the board while getting a great work out a low impact speeds.

Trying something new even when it's just fun is a great way to build up your confidence for all the tow sports. So have fun!
