Assembly of lower unit

[DC20]

Putting back together the 1999 Johnson 150 lower unit. In the directions it calls for 3M 847 in the seal ring grove and impeller housing grommet. I can't seem to find any local (auto stores, West marine) can I use this:

It also calls for Johnson Evinrude Sealing Compound, can I use this:

I'd use permatex # 3 to replace the omc gasket sealing compond. I still like the 3m 847 but what you're looking at should work.

Thanks boobie, got it all back together, just waiting for the rain to stop to put it back on the boat and see if it works
My plan is to run it one day and then drain out all the lube and refill in case there is remnants of the water intrusion still in there.

Good idea, don't forget the new drain plug washers.
