assistance with jackplate

Hello. I have a 1989 Bluefin Sportsman boat with a 50hp Force motor on it. I like to go to lakes that have a 20 HP limit. I have a Merc 7.5, and Merc 9.9 for those lakes, but how do I mount them on the back of my boat. Is this what I need a Jackplate for ? I tried to hang the motor on the transome, but it does not get deep enough into the water, and while running it cavitates. Any help ?? Thanks in advance.

Get a kicker mount, Dave.<br /><br />Go to the Mega Mall. Enter "outboard engine mount". Take your pick.
