At full throttle and it died...

The tach and all instruments seized there. It will crank but not fire. It was very low on oil but no alarms. The lower unit gear fluid was at level. Nothing displays on the instruments (hours or icons). The shift cable moved easily into the neutral position after it died. I am not original owner and it was new in 2014. I bought in 2018 and this is first problem. Any ideas? I know it is hard to diagnose without being there but am looking for ideas I might be able to try.

you say nothing displays at the helm instruments? no key on warning or gauge movement with key just in the run position (not cranking)?

Correct, no movement on tach or fuel guage or anything but it will still crank over.

I checked the lanyard. Even though it was hanging there giving the illusion that it was in place, I was able to push the pin up to the run position. I then got the start warning and my gauges all responded. Lowered it in the water and fired it up. This is the first time on this type of lanyard kill switch and definitely learned a lesson. Thank you so much.20210526_063607.jpg

I figured you would. Just thought to push you a reminder on the off chance you are anything like me and you get distracted by shiny things and forget to do what you meant to.

I appreciate the reminder as I have problems focusing on what is in front of me...until somethings draws me away. Again, thank you.

A fuse blew or breaker tripped. Check the ignition fuse (will be 15 or 20 amp). May be inline behind the helm or on a panel.

Put a voltmeter on the Red/Purple wire on the key switch to see if 12V is there

If its not there, check the 90 amp fuse on the starter post with meter

I had crap in fuel lines/gas tank internal filters one time that gave me headaches. Pump sucked all the crap from sitting a year or so and it all damned up fuel lines.
