Re: At the end of my rope

Dhadley, I'll switch them out. I was wondering about swapping the CD6's out if the flywheels don't do anything. Is there any possibility there?

Well, like you said -- the good thing is that there are two motors. Theoriticaly you could swap parts until you cause the other motor to run bad and this one to run good. Not exactly the right way but it is possible.

I just skimmed over the info again so forgive me if I missed this already but;

Each motor has 4 carb assemblys. Two 2 bbls and 2 one bbl set ups. The top 2 on each side are connected by an arm that runs across. I'm sure youve seen that one.

At the bottom of each 2 bbl assembly there is a connector to the lower single throat carb. With the airbox cover off, for inspection only -- never ever run with it off, make sure the bottom carb on each side is opening correctly.

With the throttle at wide open, each of the 6 carb butterflies should be pointing almost (ever so slightly not quite) straight forward and back. And certianly not opening past center.

The clue to this whole thing is the "coughing" you described.

Good luck!
