Attach swim platform with 5200

I have a Caravelle Interceptor 232. I had a Caravelle 207 as my previous boat. Caravelle puts caulk between the swim platform and boat and over time the caulk bead separates and looks bad. When people stand on the platform the flex allows the caulk to pull from boat or platform. Do most manufactures caulk this gap? I removed the platform from my boat to clean the caulk, all of the brackets are tight but there is just enough movement with people on the platform to prevent the caulk from staying bonded on both sides. Should I just leave the caulk out or seal the platform to the deck with 5200?

Use something flexible and removable. Not 5200. There are some really flexible exterior caulks.

If you can find 3m 4000 series caulk that will work for you. On-line Product Catalog:?3M It is actually strong yet removable and 5200 actually dries fairly solid.
