Is the timing advance curve on the 87 to 95 chevy truck delco dist the same as the voyager marine unit?

If you are working on your own boat you decide what you are comfortable with. If working on a customer boat remember you become the manufacturer when you modify automotive parts for marine use. You assume the liability in this world full of sue happy lawyers and people. The cost of defending yourself could bankrupt many small shops. Will you feel comfortable looking relatives of a dead or severely injured person in the eye and saying "it's not my fault, I made it as safe as a marine part".

yes the curve is the same,it is built into the module, it uses the same part number

You can most likely use auto parts and never have a problem. Im sure the failure (BOOM) numbers are very little if any. My issue is the coast guard and govement agencies require you to use marine parts to reduce a ignition source and I have also seen it is illegal to modify certain auto parts for use in marine applications. (fuel pumps, starters,carbs)

Im also sure if something does go "BOOM" and you survive and a few friends burn up or drown it will be investigated and if found you neglected to follow the safety regulations im sure you will be fitted in a nice orange jumpsuit for at least a year or 2, or at the least you will go broke paying lawyer fees during the investigation and trial. All this just to save a few bucks.
