Attn James Coste- Update on Rachel?

In another post you talked about Rachel having open heart surgery. For those that don't know she's 12 and this is her second time. Any updates?

Kenneth, thank you for asking. <br /><br />Rachel's surgery lasted 8+ hours yesterday. Prior to the surgery she would get about 75% of the normal oxygen flow through her body as a typical 12-year-old. The surgeon now believes that she will get 97-98% of the oxygen that normal 12-year-old's get. She will be more pink and less "blue" in her extremeties and she will have more energy and be able to run and play now.<br /><br />Her Dad (my best friend) and I had a good cry once we got to speak on the phone. It was the first time in months that I heard joy in his voice.<br /><br />You can read more on their family Web Log (BLOG) .

Thanks for the update. I got real teary eyed when I read about her, she had already had or was having the surgury when I seen the post. I felt bad becuase I didn't get to pray for her before it all happened. Kiddos with problems tear me up, I hate to see it.

Kenneth,<br />You are not alone. I hate to see anyone suffer due to health problems, but it is worse when it is a child. Rachel is a brave little girl with tremendous positive spirit despite her difficult young life. She has every reason to complain, yet she doesn't. She just enjoys life the best she can.<br /><br />Rachel is the little red-headed little girl in the picture below. It was my son's 7th birthday party (about 4 years ago).<br />
