They are increasing the fee's for 2011.

Read this here.......
http://www.nps.gov/lake/parknews/2010-56.htm

If you would like to pay the same as you did in 2010, then hit one of the pay stations BEFORE Jan 15th to get your passes for 2011.

OR, if your to far to do that in time, or just plain lazy like me, do this........
http://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/feesandreservations.htm

And let the USPS do it for you!
This is just a public service announcement for my fellow Lake Mead/Mohave boater's!:)
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Re: Attn: Lake Mead/Mohave boaters

Thanks for posting that up!!!

I better get my butt in gear and buy my tags for next year. $60 for my 2 boats and vehicles is a whole lot better than $120...

I was one of the 28 people who "commented" in opposition to the increased fees, though I knew there was nothing anyone could say or do to stop the fee increase  From the article:

"With the increase, the park?s total gross revenue is expected to increase from $3.3 million in 2010 to about $13 million by 2014."

"Funding from recreation fees is used to enhance the visitor experience and protect resources. The park uses this funding to improve launch ramp access, picnic areas, protect natural resources, provide additional litter cleanup, and provide visitor education programs. By National Park Service policy, recreation fee funding cannot be used for normal operational costs such as permanent employee salaries."

So a 300-400% increase in revenue in 4 years... WT?

I guess they had to figure out some way to pay for the $20 million they just sunk into Willow Beach

Have you ever been to Lake McConaughy? I realize its on the western side of Nebraska but it is 22 miles long and has several miles of white sand beach that you can camp on....
