auto blend! keep it or not

i was going to take out the auto blend. do i just run the gas hose to the motor from the tank and unplug the thing or is there something else i need to do this is on a 86 classic 50 45 horse

Had an '89 tower of power 115. Had a separate tank in the boat and I would assume this was "Autoblend" also, Merc's first attempt at not having to premix.

There was no rpm variance as there was later where you had an internal VRO oiler in the engine, oil was internally stored on them and mix varied from 80:1 at idle to 50:1 at WOT.

If you can reliably remember to oil the gas, I would be inclined to trash it. Only thing you need to do is remove the wiring and short across the alarm if that is what it takes to shut it of.....probably does.

Course for most of my boating life, having to remember to oil the gas was just part of boating. Problem you get into is if you have kiddo's using the boat. Sometimes the boys get to concentrating on the girls in the bikini's and forget everything else.
