auto lite spark plugs run better 1990 200gt

i put some autolite spark plugs, in and runs lot better than them champions, i set the gap 0.35, 1990 200gt. how much gap can i go with them, i know on racecar we go far as we can, to get a cleaner burn, not sure how far the power pack will fire them.

About 0.040 is the max you want to go, more can damage coils. Be very careful about changing the Autolites more frequently. They will rust in place and destroy the alumnium threads. A small amount of anti-seize compound might be a good idea. If they run 'better' than the Champions you need to check the engine tune up very carefully, something is not right. I would suspect the Autolites are a higher heat range and you will get to pay the price in pistons eventually. Thats my opinion and I'm stikin to it.
