My '87 is still ticking like a clock, and if you've read any of my prop data you know I have abused it....hard.

Good luck with that. It only take a couple of minutes of running without oil in the fuel to kill the engine....

As for the shop and the year... If you supply the serial number they will get the right parts. They don't care about the year, it's irrelevant when getting Merc/Mariner spares.
