You need a Distributor Cap that fits your Distributor,..... They're application Specific,........

There is No automotive Distributor Cap that will Fit your Distributor,...........

actually last time I needed a cap the only place open was a car parts store. Of course wanting to go boating I went in and the sales lady just looks at me like "do you know we sell parts for cars!" An old man drinking coffee had overheard our conversation and without even looking up mumbles buy one for a 1981 chevy
something or other. Sure enough same cap! I guess if it fits try it!

I have a question for you what device on a boat generates the most sparks to blow yourself up?

Inside the distributer you have points that spark 4 or 8 times per revolution of the motor. Then you have a rotor to cap spark.

Is saving $2.00 worth the risk?

You are also going to need to vent the auto cap as well.

Your not going to find and auto cap unless your dealing with something really really old before the CG upgradeed the standards

Yes that is correct I had posted getting a cap for my 1993. The time I got the cap for auto was for a old boat.

If I believe you have an AQ131? If that is correct, the Volvo Penta uses a cap that is fastened to the distributor with screws. While the automotive ones that I have seen for the same engines are ones that are secured to the distributor with clips. So to answer your question, it won't work.
