I read in another post that disconnecting charging system on a motor running may damage the components.

My question is : Is it possible to start a motor on a stand,on muffs, by jumping starter connections, without damaging any charging system, rectifier, regulator etc.

Or can you start it on boat, with big red connector unattached ?

By jumping, you mean, the solenoid with a screwdriver? Sure no harm done there.
It's just the output from the rectifier must be hooked to the battery. It doesn't happen right away in most cases, but it is definately hard on the regulator/rectifier/ and HVCD ignitions.
But just jumping the solenoid wont harm it at all.
As long as the battery is hooked up to the engine while it runs.

Thanks 12 footer

But if you start by using automotive jump start wires on solenoid and block terminals will the cahrging current go to the battery ?

That depends on how you have it hooked-up. If it doesn't bypass the battery while running.
IOW, if you start it, then remove the battery, it could damage the components. But if the only thing done was to short-accross the start lugs on the solenoid (to keep from walking up to the helm and starting it), with the battery still hooked-up, you are fine.
The thing is, the current must have a place to go.
In most cases, the damage isn't immediate, and can take some time before damage occurs. But on very rare occasions, it's 'right now' damaged.
With the battery hooked-up, engine running, check the voltage. It should climb from 12 to 14VDC after you start it. If it runs, and the voltage gradually goes up, you have no damage.

Thanks 12footer

I didnt pull the battery connection, just did not have the big red plug connected to boat, I cut the pliers from 2 automotive jump start cables and soldered terminals to the end and screwed them on motor, exactly like the battery cabled.

What I wanted to know was if charging current goes through these two connections too. By the way I had problems getting this thing shut off, but luckeyli the vro had fed a lot of oil to carb bowls, so it smoked a lot and died after some time !!! Hard to start too, had to squirt fuel into silencer box.
