Edit: I am going to be introduced to my boat's PO's Mechanic tomorrow.... "A great guy", says previous owner...
But I don't have time to do it myself and would like to gitter done and gitterDOne Right.

No reason to suspect bad JuJu in such a small town but wanted to check in with the forum as to what should be suggested for pampering a 3-year old winterization hybernation of a 454/330 trs merc which prior to winterization had an outdrive remove/repair. (I think the gimbal fried) as I know already that the mechanic has rewired the trim buttons to eliminate the "trim only;single button" for just up / down operation on the TRS 1,2,3??? outdrive.

supposedly an R&R occurred with new looking rubber on housing and boots from my observation...

with that info deliverd my new best friends.........

What should the mechaninc do?? or recommend to be done after three -10 degree winters outside?

thanks fellas, B.

End Edit. or Ediot if you prefer

have secured a tow vehicle.

I am duplicating the Fake a Lake rig for on the trailer flushing here at home.

the motor was winterized three years ago...from previous owner.

I want run her at home prior to taking her to the little lake near here....before going to Powell.

should I be good to go? no prep work? ensure water flow, check oil: turn key! ??

lemme know fellas...

:)

searched a little harder.... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=56880

found this. for a five year old sleeper:. (from member Don S) :)

Before you ever crank the engine over, remove the distributor, use an oil pump priming tool and recharge the oil system. This puts new oil on all the bearings which are probably pretty dry at this point. Then it's time to do all the maintenance items on the drive and engine, oil changes, bellows changes, raw water pump impeller change, tuneup, gear lube, ujoint inspection, gimbal bearing inspetion, etc. Get a manual,
