i just bought my new boat cover because my boat was getting soaked with the recent rains. and trash was getting into it. there arnt any holes or softspots int he floor but the carpet is soaked and i see some cracking in the fiber glass. should i go ahead and cover the boat now or should i let it sit out and dry then cover it. and what should i do about the cracking fiberglass? there is one kinda softspot in the rear near the rear seats but nothing big. no groans or cracking sounds.

You gotta dry it out. If you can, put it out in the sun for a couple days and when the interior is completely dry cover it the best you can. Make sure the bilge plug is out and the bow is higher than the stern to prevent any water from accumilating.<br />Have a pro look at the cracked 'glass- it could be minor or major....

I would dry it out as much as possible first .It must sit in the sun. When you cover it ,make sure the cover is vented and I would highly recommend putting a fan in the boat.Chances are very high that it does not dry out thoroughly by itself.Charlie

the carpet and everything seemed very dry when i went back and cleaned it up today for the recovering. what is the best way to go about upkeep on the glass? should i pull the carpet and put down a couple coats of fiberglass?
