k not quite. have a couple days off of work this week so i decided id take the boat out and camp for a couple nights. just the usual spot (that ive already taken the boat to probable 8 times this year). i got 2 hours sleep the night before cause i got up super early to get the boat all ready and fix a couple minor things. anyways we head out, stop at the gas dock and were on our way. beautiful day on the water today too!

not even half an hour out and the motor blew up! (old 1979 chrysler, that has ran awesome for the past 2 years) not sure what happened yet but when i get a chance to pull the motor apart ill check it out, thinking i broke a rod... well see.

Sorry to hear that. So what is the plan ??
Replace motor ?? Repair ??
It could be a better option to replace it with a well cared for used motor.

Re: AWESOME day on the water....

got the boat home and pulled the motor apart. Blew a rod bearing that chewed up the rod and crank. and metal was floating around the cylinder and chewed up the walls pretty good. the aluminum of the piston melted over the rings. looks pretty cool. ill see if i can snap some pics tomorrow.

But ya its not worth fixing this motor as i will need to bore/hone the cylinders. Im looking for a new used motor, preferably 90's vintage and more power. lol Gives me time to fix some little things on the boat while its off the water for a bit.
