Here is a link that is loaded with cool stuff at rock bottom prices plus lots of useful info http://www.automationdirect.com Their products are a very good value, I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with them and NEVER had to do a RMA ! These guys blow the big boys (Allen-Bradley) out of the water.

I think what you want is a control circuit timmer, turn on when temp drops below set temp then turn on for X amount of time, then cycle again is this right? Can be done easy but need to have a box to put in. We run a 24 system like this at work only differance would be a 120 coil.

Today at work I looked in the McMaster-Carr catalog- several pages of good relay choices from $20 to $100. Even ones that can handle 20 amps. Try www.mcmaster.com .

My boiler said:
One of the laws of electricity..... "It does not have to be fancy to be functional" and besides,I can't see it from my house!

I've been burning wood for 40 years, about 30 of them with well controlled appliances. It's still wood, and different woods have different properties. The trick is to stack the stove depending on the expected load and load duration. If you go at it with a mind for learning, it only takes a couple of years to get the hang of it.

I've gotten so I can fire the boiler with scrap pine in the summer, heat up the hot water tank, and have just the right residual heat and coals left in the boiler to top it off the water heater after a shower or two. Just in case, it'll dump hot water down the drain if it gets unreasonably hot. Haven't lost any boiler water through the pressure release yet.

My boiler, furnace and water heater control set looks like the inside of an old time pinball machine.

Ayuh,... Mine's set up pretty simple like with aqua-stats tellin' the pumps when to pump, 'n the draft to open, 'n close, with pretty much complete "Control", using the stoves natural draft...

I can load 'er Full, 'n it'll only give the heat called for...

The dump zone is the blow-offs on the boiler,...
It's automatically replenished from the tie into the house oil boiler/ load zones..

I ran into the Issue, by wantin' to clean up the restarts, from an idle condition...(ya, can't leave well enough alone:rolleyes: )
I want the draft inducer fan to run for 'bout 15 minutes, when the aqua-stat tells the draft to Open,...
Then it's gotta turn off, til the next cycle...

I can see puttin' it together with a couple of pieces found here in the links everybody posted,..
bigdee's post #15 looks like a simple, easy for me thing to pull off, 'n give me what I think I need..
I've got a Bud, who runs the local Sid Harvey store, 'n gives me his employee pricin', so long as I'm throwin' 'im Cash...;)
Saved me $100.s if not $1,000.s on the total in-floor hydronic/ oil heating system I put in my rental house last year...

Thanks for all the Super help here,...
Now I gotta do some leg work, 'n throw this thing together... ;)

Yikes:eek:

That's like having only the parking brake on yer pickup. A runaway boiler actually does quite a bit more damage than a runaway pickup.

Worst one I investigated blew both ends off an occupied church building.

What happened is
1. Boiler was oil fired, changed to gas with an industrial burner (way short on safety controls)
2. Boiler leaked a little water. Swede, the janitor fixed it with a pipe plug. (yep, there it was)
3. Burner ran away, boiler pieces were found stuck in a garage 2 blocks away.

Nobody was hurt, but a lot of laundry had to be done.

Ayuh,... I understand, 'n have done tests...
In a power failure it goes into automatic shut-down..
I'm comfortable with what I've built...
