Check out these types of things ... <br /><br /> http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/gapastli.html <br /><br />You can set the distance it "goes off" at and mount the sensor one place and the lights somewhere else (one sensor for side clearance, one for rear). I'm not endorsing this brand, but I have a similar one and it works like a champ.

randyo, I have the same setup you have. I marked the magic spot on the floor with duct tape and when I'm backing in, I set a white plastic bucket on the duct tape as my target. I just back in until the trailer tire hits the bucket.
