I'm trying to review the site here, but my wife across from me is gabbing on and on about something I couldn't care less about.

Whenever this happens to me, I make stenching flatulence in her general direction and then blame it on the dog. Works like a charm every time.

half the time when the admiral speaks i dont even hear it ive learned that when she is talking to just nod and say yes dear often
dont even know what she is talking about most times
i think that is how i got this ring on my finger

That works until lthe next day she says: "What did I tell you yesterday about that?" Asking her what she means really ticks her off!

my wife likes to start in the middle of a conversation. A perfect example was last week. shes says "Its done it again, you said you would take care of it" i have no idea who "IT" is but i know im meant to do something about it. Only thing i could say was "Im sorry love i will take care of it".

Im not sure what "IT" is but it needs to stop upsetting her as shes taking it out on me.

Mine takes 20 minutes to impart 30 seconds worth of information. She'll start to tell a story, then say something like... 'wait, I need to back up about 3 decades to what started this...' She'll go off on a tangent that way 3 or 4 times during the telling. If I haven't already blown my brains out by the time she's done, I usually ran out of breadcrumbs and can't find my way back to the starting point.

But, she handles fenders and dock lines like a pro and never clogged up the head.

After hearing this and similar responses, I did improve my listening skills LOL I also told her to get my attention first by calling my name. Just don't start talking and assume I am listening. I may be off in day dream land

Blame the dog? Come on, MAN UP! Just aim, shot, and be proud about it! That's what I do, and it works everytime!

Ah, finally a support group where I truly feel like I belong!!

I'm right there with you on both the wife taking half an hour to tell a five minute story, and on the me tuning her out and just agreeing. Pretty sure the latter has something to do with the former, but it has gotten me into hot water every now and then!

Luckily, all I have to do is take her fishing, and all is forgiven!!
