Here is my story and I'm stickin to it!<br />Yam 115 ETXJ 86 <br />Started this season in March.<br />New Water Pump.<br />Ran OK Water is cold air is cold.<br />Came back to the dock Idle Like Crap?Lean Starve.<br />Carbs cleaned last year after similar running condition.<br />Replaced Racor FF Seemed to be something that looked like White Goo in it. (Snot)<br />Berrymans in the jets/reset runs great.<br />Happens AGAIN!<br />Long and Short Drained out over wintered fuel, With the Bow Way up in the Air.<br />New fuel another shot of chemtool in the jets/reset.<br />All new fuel Mobil 87 Octane.<br />Runs Super.<br />My guess MTBE from last year combined with E10 this year was NOT GOOD.<br />Hope this helps.

I had a 1970 Evinrude. I winterized it right. I do it for a living. One year it started running poorly a few minutes into the first run of the year. Limped back and tore down the carbs. Same crap you found, but not so white. Looked more like silicone sealer, but not at all firm. Something in the gas reacted to something. Regular unleaded gas w/o MTBE but maybe ethanol, OMC 2+4 stabilizer. The gas wasn't old, I used the boat frequently. Way more than the average boater.
