Re: Bad ignition coil

Well, I put in the new powerpack today. Very easy to do btw. Took it out, hit 43 MPH against wind, and hit 5900-6100RPM...Great feeling. One thing I did notice was a little backfire on sudden WOT, but it only does that after idling for about 15mins. After first backfire, I will slow it down and do it again, nothing. But it may just be a sparkplug or something. So thank you everyone who helped me with this process. Love iboats.com!

Just for grins, cut out the blue crimp connector that has the in-line fuse in it, and solder and heat shrink the connections.

This is way off topic, but crimp connectors do not belong on outboard motors.

Heat shrink crimp connectors do belong on boats. When you solder any wires on a boat or mtr they will break much easier because after soldering they are not as flexiable as they become brittle and you have many vibrations on a boat/mtr combo.
