Re: bad relays?

Sorry Flyboy....being a Vol. Fire Fighter has some draw backs.....

Apparently you found the relays. Did you replace them one at a time to see which relay may be bad? Or just swapped positions?

Re: bad relays?

I thought my relays were bad. I traced the wires from the relays to the TnT motor. About 4 inches up from the TnT motor the wires were corroded. There was a small pin hole in the wire where water had gotten in. I cut and replaced the wires, using the plastic liquid stuff to seal them.
I also had to clean the contacts at the plug that attaches to the relays. They had brown sticky stuff on them that did not allow for a good contact.
A member advised me to run a hot wire to the green or blue wire on the relay plug to ascertain if the TnT motor works. I did that which is how I discovered the corroded wire at the trim motor.

Re: bad relays?

hello
if you switched the relay location and the symptom staryed the same its not a relay. thats a quick test good going. now dissconnect the cowl trim switch if used, see if it does it again, if it does disscoonect the 3or5pin trim harness connector to eliminate the console trim and trim harness and see if the symptom goes away. its a quick easy process of elimination then you can further isolate it with a multimeter.
good luck and keep posting
