Bad stator??? 1990 120

My engine ran for a couple weeks and then developed another problem. It will start, but does not want to stay running for more than a minute or two. When I put it into gear it just bogs and stalls. I plan on borrowing a peak reading meter to check the stator and tb this week. Is it possible the stator is crapping out?

I am positive this is not a fuel problem.

I'm back to the old PP as the "new" PP would drop spark on #1 when I advanced the throttle to set the MSA with the test prop.

Please advise on what stators do when they go south.

why are you convinsed its not a fuel problem?

did you check the link and sync?

what is the idle timing set at?
before chasing an electronic part make sure all the other basics are in good shape.

compresion?
fuel?
spark?
timing?

these 4 are the basics.
