Is anybody familier with Baha Crusiers? I know they are more geared toward fishing and are apparently not designed to be fancy or stylish. However, Why is that a 29 Wellcraft has a max hp of 600 when Baha 300 has 450. Is it just lighter or is it a cheaper design and brand of boat? Im very curious as to their quality and their prices (Especially the 300 GLE)

Re: Baha Cruisers

Somewhere I have seen the calculation for determining the weight a boat can carry, it look pretty straight forward.

Based on the estimated weight of both boats, there is about 1400 pounds difference which could allow for the extra weight of the bigger motors

That is an Engineers view point :D there actually might be someone out there that knows the truth :p

* Shaft length - Twin : 25"/.64 m

* Max power @ prop : 600 HP/447 kw
* Deadrise : 23 degrees

The only thing wrong with this is that the scarab tournament is a center console. (Wo a cuddy) The Baha 300 gle is an express cruiser with a cabin and a full pilot house

Idk what to do. I want a 08 Wellcraft 290 Coastal, I want a new Chris 29 Catalina Express, Maybe this Baha 300 GLE, and maybe this left over 08 Wellcraft 35 Scarab Sport that i could get for crazy cheap!!(MSRP=$210,999, Asking price at dealer= $109,999!!!) I have no idea which way to go. Another option, of course, is to keep what i have.....what do I do?????

Re: Baha Cruisers

I was talked out of buying a 30' baha sedan 2 yrs ago, by both the marina, & a surveyor. I was told they had TONS of problems with hulls, Stringers, and overall hull integrity.
The particular one I was looking at appeared to have several repair attempts made at fixing structual problems, and all had failed.

Re: Baha Cruisers

15 degree deadrise for the Baja Cruiser VS 23 degree for the WC. There's your HP differential right there. The flat bottom of the Baja will just become a water pushing pig if you throw more HP at her...:eek:
