Hey everyone! I live in Napa,California. I like to fish out in the Delta. I like to use bullheads but they are 2-3 dollars a pop!!! Where can I catch these things myself? If I recall correctly as a kid I remember catching them in creeks with my grandfather... But who knows it has been a while. Also What about mudsuckers? Are they out in the delta near the docks? I really would just like to catch my own bait fish. And I have no idea where or how to do that. Thanks for any input ahead of time!

I posted this in the freshwater forum, But since I am fishing for the bass in salt water I figured it wouldnt hurt to post here. Thanks.

i live in MD and they love live spot here, eels also. we use bunker and mullet also. and belive it or not i was catching them on GULP peelers the other day jugging with a grub worm......go catch em

as for catching them...creeks are great. go get urself a "Sabiki" rig. and put pink bloodworm fishbites on it....or easier a trap. just put some dead fish meat in there. or bloodline.

I will try that! With the sabik rig do they just hook themselves? And what kind of trap would i use? And what about accidentally catching crawdads?

they will bite the fishbites. make the peices u put on the hooks real small. its starting to get cold now though and all the bait is leaving...only thing realy left is bunker. u may be to late and stuck buying the spot from the bait shop.

I caught 10 mud suckers on about one inch pieces of worm on a small hook with the line tied around my finger the other night. Very very easy to catch them.

i have never paid for a bullhead in my life. i'm from vallejo and what i do is get the kids pole with a # one hook and a grass shrip on it and you'll cath them anywhere you are. but i have cought alot at the vallejo waterfront in front of the big prop.
