I've got onions, bread crumbs and boxed stuffing, make them on the side (my original thought) or inside bird? I'd love inside, been so long, also will bake sweet taters, side of fresh veggies, peach pie, just me and dogs this year, will LOVE leftover turkey sandwiches!!!! :)

Do I make the stuffing outside of the turkey or inside of it? I’ve got carrots, onions, tomatoes, the usual veggies, and potatoes that I can put either in the bottom of the pan as it has a rack or do I put everything in the turkey as it’s suspended in the rack? What type of dry rub should I put if at all or any spices on the turkey before I start baking it in the oven?

Since you are not brining the bird, keep it simple. Take a stick of butter (not margarine) and loosen the skin from the breast of the bird. Insert butter under breast skin and smash the butter so it coats the breast. Salt and pepper the bird I also like to use a little tumeric for color and a subtle taste and just a pinch of garlic. Roast your bird covered until the internal temp is about 135. Uncover bird and finish cooking (skin is golden brown and internal bird temp is 155. Remove from oven, cover, and let rest. Will finish its cook while resting. You know have a tender, juicy bird to devour.

My wife always puts the stuffing in the turkey, I don't know anyone around here that cooks a turkey with no stuffing inside! Around here stuffing consists of bread crumbs mixed with onion and savoury, butter and salt and pepper. Delicious!

Well, here’s what I came up with and I’ll do the stuffing on the side and I’ll make some sweet potatoes maybe with some brown sugar and then just a peach pie for dessert third of a leftover beer in this turkey pan and put about 2 inches of water in the bottom Took the giblets out through the neck in there it should make for a pretty good broth oh bird is covered with foil for now approximate cooking time is 3 1/2 hours

We also switched to NOT STUFFING the stuffing into the bird. Easier & better cooking of white and dark meat of the bird. Gravy is still from bird drippings. We cook with a big bird bag.

Best I’ve ever had oh my God the white meat. I think I like better than the dark meat! I’m actually done cleaning up the kitchen doing dishes. I’ve got at least four days worth of dinners, frozen and Ziploc bags and two days more in the fridge. I haven’t even even made the cranberry sauce or the pie or the sweet potatoes. I just don’t need them yet. This turned out absolutely excellent by the way all the broth I made with the carrots and everything in the bottom of the pan will go into my tortilla soup which that will feed me for another week and I’ll probably throw turkey in that this time as well.

Our gang pretty much wiped out the turkey, some left over for Sammy’s. My favorite part of thanksgiving turkey is yet come. Not exactly sure how she goes about it my wife throws the carcass in a pot, boils and picks it and uses some stock and a bunch of other goodies and makes a killer Turkey soup.

Life is good.
When daughter and Son In Law came by yesterday to move tree into place. Restring the lights. Brought over Holiday Dinner. Because wife and me are house bound for awhile.
Vinnie helped, did all the moving garage equipment around.
We then sat and talked. With lots of laughs. We enjoyed ourselves.
