OK. so how do'es one check the truions? The hr meeter reads 295. I don't think it's working though. to old of a boat for so few hr.

Been awhile since I owned mine but I don't see how they could possibly get out of line. Howard should comment.

You'd have to find an old OMC Stern Drive dlr. They made a tool that you would clamp on both the upper g/c and the inter hsg in the trunion area and you could check the alignment. This area can get sprung by either hitting an under water object or somebody ran into your boat in a parking lot. Whenever I had to replace ball gears I always checked this area.

I'll check it out. It is out of my pay grade... So I'll try and find an OMC shop. But thanks for the help.

If you have the outdrive off and found a shop that has the tool, you could take the boat and outdrive in and have it checked. It should take no more than 20 minuets to do it.
