Re: Banning 2-Cycle engines???

just as a question of interest on this topic: besides the ETECS and DI outboards are there any new 2 stroke outboards still for sale in the US? or are we now in the attrition stage of phasing 2 strokes out?
Yamaha still does.

Where I go boating I just don't see them outlawing the use of them. I can definitely see that you won't be able to buy new ones soon enough and the remaining ones will go by way of attrition, but I think that will be it. As for me, give me a carbureted 2-stroke any day. Simple to work on and maintain, and very reliable in my experience.

It's true. The 2 stroke ban starts tomorrow. You can no longer even start one in your driveway. If you own one you must be able to prove it won't start or face possible criminal charges. You must also be able to prove you have started proceedings to transfer it to the dismanteling center. Begining tomorrow no 2 stroke outboard will have any value whatsoever.

My new company has been licensed by the feds to gather all 2 stroke outboards and dismantel them. IM me for the shipping address and disposal rates. We have worked out a deal with freight companies for reduced rates so it will only cost a few hunderd dollars per motor to ship them and pay for their disposal. At the owners expense naturally.

The feds believe this program will net them 700 billion dollars. Wonder why they're so set on that figure?

"Eco-business" - I like that. You can be ECO-Can and we'll be ECO-Am.

No, wait - S.C.A.M. - Scrap 2Cycle All Motors.

SCAM-Can and SCAM-US

You'll be glad to know I took care of the problem myself. I bought a new, long metal cutting blade for the Sawzall and it actually cut through the leg and powerhead pretty easily. The thing was a lot easier to haul to the landfill in 5 parts.

There will be an authorized SCAM agent at the landfill. Trust me on that.
