Re: Barretta boat brochures

From what I can tell Baretta only existing for a few years and has not built boats since 1993. You are going to be looking for a rare brochure.

Your only bet is to find someone that was at a boat show in 87 or 88 and happens to still have a brochure. I have several other brand's brochures from 88 but Baretta must not have had any boats at the show I went to.

Is there something specific you are looking for in the borchure? Is just for nostalgia?

Scour E-bay and craigslist. Look for any boat catalogs or brochures that are listed for the years you are looking for and contact the person to see if they may have a Baretta catalog also.

Thanks for the reply; Barretta made several models of the 162, one was the super sport model; I wanted to know which other models they made.

Thanks again

Re: Barretta boat brochures

I've got a 1988 Success 200 open bow. Looks very similar to yours except mine has a swim platform built into the Hull/Cap. I also have a volvo 275 outdrive.

Yours looks to be in great shape.

There are a few Baretta owners here, most in the restoration forum.:rolleyes:

I think they were a cheaply made boat like many from that era. I all depends on how they've been taken care of. My Baretta is not in great shape but it handles well and I like the Volvo drives.

Good Luck with yours!

I bought an 86 super sport a few months back. I've searched high and low for Baretta information, but to no avail. I've found a few pieces here and there, but nothing much. If you find anything please post it.

Thanks The boat runs pretty good; still getting a feel for it. There is a lot of repair and maintenance work to do. I started up front and working my way back. Replacing the missing carpet in the bow area, replacing some of the pin stripping, found a teak wood storage cover for the middle ski storage bend, aslo found a teak wood swim ladder that matches the original that came on the boat.
Some of the wooden set frames needs replacing due to dry rot. I have my work cut out, but enjoy taking her on Lake Michigan on a calm day.

The lower end of the stern drive came down on me last year while trailering back from having it winterized. The prop and pointed end of the lower drive unit was damaged. Ouch... luckily I had purchased a Penta 275 complete drive for a bargain from a seller in Michigan. At the time Gas prices were high and I spent few dollars in gas to drive my pickup truck to get it. My next project is to swap out the lower stern drive and find a Volvo Penta quarter tilt quadrant bracket to support the drive when trailering in the future.

Another item that is hard to find!

I would still like to find out which model 162 that I have.

The 1988 Barretta brochure that I have that shows a super sport model is to large to up-load. Will try making the file smaller and try again later.

Re: Barretta boat brochures

If you have questions about your motor and drive, post them in the I/O forum.

Too bad about the lower unit, I just strap mine up while towing, takes the pressure off the lift.

Whats the condition of your stringers/transum/floor? Have ya checked them out? You can ask in the restoration forum about those issues.

This site may be your new best friend.:)

Condition of my stringers! That is a good question to ask. I just finished reading some of the Barretta links about stringer replacements. I will have to wait until Spring to find out that question. My garage that I keep the boat in is not heated. In Wisconsin it is still cold!
I am still trying to find a quarter tilt quadrant bracket to keep the stern drive from coming down when trailing on rough roads.
I found some brackets for other models but not for volvo!
See attached pics. any Ideal were I can get a bracket?
