I saw the other post on bending the rail so I'll ask you my question. I have a "ding" in my bow rail, actually more than a ding. It took a hard hit from the previous owner on one side and needs to be straightend. Any thoughts?

TOOMUCHCLUB...I'm sorry to say that your rail will never be PERFECTLY straight again but you can get it close. This will be easier if you can remove it. Then you would need two pieces of half round that matches the O/D of the rail. Also some type of protection for the contact points. These half rounds should be a foot long or more depending on the length of the bowed portion. Place the bend between the half rounds and tighten in a vise.Repeat as needed until as straight as possible. I have access to all these items so it is easy for me. Another option is to find a business that does tube bending and make friendly with someone that works there and get them to help you out. I hope this helps!THANKFULLY AND RESPECTFULLY>>BART SR.
