Hello,

I am very close to purchasing a Lund Rebel 1625 and wanted to see if anyone who spends a majority of their time fishing for Largemouths can share their experience of fishing from a Deep-V. I like the idea of a multi-species boat so I have the ability to mix things up at time. The high sides might also be good to have when I have my kids out there with me. I used to have a fiberglass Nitro, but wanted to go with something lighter and easier to manage on my own this time around. Any input would be appreciated as I may be closing the deal this week.

Thx.

I think you'll like that Rebel a lot. Aluminum deep-v's are the boat of choice around here. Their durability, longevity and versatility is unmatched. Unless you are a hardcore bass tournament fisherman where you need a huge deck to lay out 8 different rods, the deep-v will work just fine for bass and give you the ability to fish big water as well. I would recommend a trolling motor with a wireless remote. It gives you the freedom to move about the boat, something that is important when you bring kids along.

I fish Lake Okeechobee in Florida often. I have a 1988 Pro V DLX powered by a johnson 90hp. Last March I won a bass tournament at the lake using this boat.(largest fish and total weight). I'd say they are great boats to bass fish from. BTY I also have a wireless trolling motor 24v with a 60" shaft. Hope this helps

I use a Rebel 1725 for bass, crappie, trot lines etc.
I also use a wireless trolling motor and really like the setup.
The wife got tired of getting wet and cold on the bigger lakes in the small flatbottom we had. She told me to get the 17 foot boat to have more room.
Also we have dual consoles. She has her own windshield. The only mistake we think we made was, we should have got the full windshield for cold weather. A lot of air comes between the consoles.
She wanted a boat that had sides, She did not like setting on top of a bass boat. To begin with she was not comfortable with the front and back decks but she is ok with the decks now.
