buickman33,

Stringers are the large boards, typically 2" X 8" that run the length of the boat under the floor.

For floor repair tips, do a serch on this board using "floor rot", replacing floor" etc. There have been alot of posts on this subject.

Re: bassboat floor bad.

The easiest way to put a new floor in a boat is to take the deck off the hull and replace the wood. To take the deck off pull the black rubber off that goes around the boat and remove the rivets and pull the aluminum. THIS IS A VERY BIG AND TIME CONSUMING JOB. I have done a few boats this way and the new floor was better than the factory one.
