I recently purchased a boat with a bow thruster. It is powered by a completely isolated bank of 2 six volt batteries. No other loads. Do you think I should bond the negative side to the negative side of the bank of house batteries? It seems like if the banks are not bonded at negative there could be a potential reference difference between the negatives of each bank perhaps increasing electrolysis? Thoughts?

Does your bow thruster remain in the water for long periods of times....like overnight? Do you boat in saltwater? If either of these questions is no, I wouldn't worry about it.

All your negatives should be bonded at one point or to a negative bus bar from that one ground, don't go to the battery stud.
