I bought a new to me boat this Spring with twin '04 Evinrude DI 200's on it. They start OK but not really as OK as I think they should. Stumble a bit and stall once or twice before they smooth out and run fine, this is cold, they start fine when warm.
Anyway it sounded to me like they were not quite cranking fast enough so I was checking the batteries and saw that the batts are 690 CA (MCA same thing) and it hit me that when I bought my old '00 150hp Ficht new I was told I should have 1,000 CA (MCA) batts for it.
Has that changed with the later Bombardier DI (Fichts) or should I still have a minimum of 1,000 CA or MCA whichever you prefer, or is it supposed to be 1,000 CCA....can't remember, obviously 1,000 CCA is more than 1,000 CA.
The batts in the boat are relatively new, 2 years maybe, but I have no problem swapping them out if need be. Just want to make sure I'm give the engines what they need to fire up correctly.
Thanks.
