I am new to trolling motor batteries. I have the following charger. Would this be sufficient to charge my deep cycle batteries or should I invest in something different

It's fine. Use the charge rate that is 20% (or thereabouts) of the AH (amp/hour) rating of the battery. If you have a 70 AH battery, it should be charged at a rate no higher than 14 amps.
