is there a different type of battery charger for marine batteries ? i have a Vector 093 which i use for autos. it has a lot of fancy gizmo buttons on it and an instruction book written by a non english speaking chinaman. the booklet says it is for auto batteries only and i think that is to deter anyone from charging flashlite batteries etc. But a marine battery is a lead/acid like a car's.

Any battery charger that will charge a auto battery will cahrge a marine battery. Just keep in mine a deep cycle battery does not need charged all the time. Your outboard engine should keep your cranking battery charged up.<br />I would suggest an onboard charger, either 2 or 3 bank is fine.

Re: battery chargers

okey, dokey, now as a follow up, should i be using low 2 amperage slow charging setting? will a higher setting say a 10 or 20 amp give me a problem?
