Running a 24v system for my Fortrex 80#, batteries are one year old and my DualPro 3 Bank Charger is saying they are fully charged over night, plus my little hand tester says both are fully charged. Went out the last two days and running the Fortrex approximately 1 hour it starts to really struggle with power. I Checked both batteries and the same one is almost dead & the other is spot on. I'm losing one battery after a full charge pretty darn quickly. I kept the Dual Pro on all winter to keep the batties healthy, something happened since last year, the battery right below my charger is the culprit,,,,,,wont hold a charge>>>>. any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Battery Losing Charge

Take the battery to an auto parts store and get it load tested. It's probably bad even though it takes a charge.

Probably whats stated above.
Just wondering...thats isn't both connections to your trolling motor off of one battery is it?
Do you have anything else running off your batteries?

Re: Battery Losing Charge

Just because a battery measures 12.6 volts doesn't mean it is a good battery. Apply a load and voltage drops like a rock meaning it is a bad battery. As suggested, a load test is required.

Re: Battery Losing Charge

Are those deep discharge batteries?

Never run your batteries below 50% capacity and they will last longer if that has been what you were doing.
