Battery Setup ???s

i have a 14ft Jon boat with a 25hp Evirude and going to purchase a 40# thrust transom mount trolling motor (MinnKota). i want to use 2 batteries for it.. but how should i setup them up..<br /><br />1 Trolling Motor Battery & 1 Starting/Electronics Battery and keep them seperate..<br /><br />Two STarting/Trolling Batteries..<br /> or<br />! starting/Electronic Battery and 2 Trolling Batteries..<br /><br />what are yall's opinions on this?? all batteries would be 12 volt and wired for 12volt

The biggest deep cycle you have room for to run the trolling motor. Regular Marine starting battery for the engine. If you meant two batteries for the trolling motor, that's really not necessary unless you spend nearly full time on the water. If that's the case, two of the largest deep cycles you have room for, wired parallel will be the desired setup (but overkill in my view).

One good group 27 battery should be plenty. Doesn't take much power to move a Jon boat and there should be a rope start for backup on that 25.

yeah there is a recoil back-up..most of my time fishing would be trolling or going into the wind and would probably b only a hlf day 4-5 hours max..
