Hey guys,

What would you recommend?

'73 15ft Larson Shark with an '76 85hp E-Rude. Just the nav lights and a radio so far, but would like to eventually add a fish finder?

Standard marine cranking, deep cycle, or dual?

If you don't have an electric trolling motor, I'd go with the marine starting battery. If you do have an electric trolling motor, I'd go with a second, deep-cycle battery just for that. Your other accessories don't draw all that much current, and a properly-tuned engine doesn't make much demand to be started, either.

Agree with CATransplant - single marine cranking battery is fine. Make sure it's at least 850 CCA. Even with a fish finder the draw is very minimal so it really shouldn't be an issue. :D

Re: Battery suggestion???

You can easily get away with a 600 MCA marine starting battery, but for only a few $ more, you can get the biggest one that will fit in the space you have available.

(real marine batteries are rated in Marine Cranking Amps, not cca)

Thanks guys.

So a regular MCA battery it is then! Once again, Thanks!:) I'll get a deep cycle for the trolling motor.
