Battery switch

I just bought a switch to run two batteries. One to start and the other for accessories. My boat is an 92 Starcraft 171 I/O. Where would be the best place to put the switch? Both battery compartments are large enough. They covered by the removable seat cushion. I don't think the engine compartment would be good since to use the switch, I would need to remove the cover, it's a pain with people in the boat. Where have you guys placed them? It is a Guest 2111A. Thanks!

Re: Battery switch

I would put it close to the batteries as long as it would be easy to get to there. That way your not running more cable than you have to.

Re: Battery switch

I agree to place the switch to minimize large cable length, but add that I'd place priority to minimize cable length from the starting battery to your engine. Shorter cable means less voltage drop and less potential to not get your engine started.
