battery switch

When hooking up a Guest battery switch which has an off, battery 1, both, battery 2 setting. Should both negative wires on batteries be tied together?<br /><br />Thanks in advance

I have the same set up dont know the name but yes I have one Neg comeing from switch and then a jumper from one battir to the other
