battery

After driving in the boat for 5 min or so if i shut down the boat will not turn over right a way. If I sit for 5min or so the boat will crank but slowly. the Positive side of the battery is very hot. any help

assuming the battery is good and ALL the battery, solenoid, and starter connections are clean and tight it sounds like your starter motor has a problem, it's also possible the engine is overheating and when it cools a bit it'll turn over slowly, couple of questions, how does it start when it's cold, when it finally starts after 5 minutes does it seem to run okay, does the problem repeat itself every time the engine has been running, shut off and restarted at operating temperature?

When Cold it kicks right over. And after it starts it runs great. The temp normally goes to 160 and stayes constant. it will repeat itself again and again. I will take the starter out and have it checked. Thanks
